Ever felt like you stepped back in time while trying to do something online? Like trying to pay with GCash in a palengke? That’s me trying to register for BPI Online Banking.
First hurdle? Getting my customer number.
You’d think something this essential would be, you know, easy to find. Nope. Had to call their hotline and navigate a maze of options before finally talking to a human. “Ma’am, kailangan po kasi ‘yan para makapag-register.” I felt like I was talking to a robot.
Victory? Not even close.
Armed with my customer number (finally!), I excitedly opened the app, ready to conquer the digital world. Error. Apparently, my phone number wasn’t updated. Hold up, isn’t this the same number I used to open the account? Logic, please?
Off to the branch, I went.
One hour of my life (and countless episodes of “Magandang Buhay” playing on loop) later, I emerged victorious! Number updated. I can finally taste the sweet, sweet convenience of online banking.
Or so I thought.
The branch CS, with a smile as bright as the fluorescent lights, cheerfully informed me: “Ma’am, two banking days po bago ma-update.” Two banking days? What is this, the Stone Age?
Fast forward to today: Still can’t register.
And this is just the online banking registration. Remember when I activated my card? Two whole days just to get it confirmed! Samantalang sa BDO, instant! Text lang, activated na, gamit na!
Seriously, BPI, why so Jurassic?
Look, I get it. Security and all. But in this day and age, instant noodles are cooked faster than your processes. Here’s a thought:
- Why not use the application phone number as the registered number? One less step for us, one less headache for everyone.
- How about real-time updates? Let us know what’s happening, para hindi kami nagmumukhang tanga na naghihintay sa wala.
- Maybe, just maybe, speed things up? The world’s moving fast, BPI. Catch up!
This is my first time with BPI, and honestly, hindi maganda ang first impression. And before you tell me to be patient, I’ve been patient enough to write this whole saga.
Dear BPI, please, modernize your systems. Your customers deserve better.
P.S. To anyone else struggling with BPI’s online banking, kapit lang! We’re in this together (and hopefully, we’ll all have access to our accounts soon).
