Okay, mga ‘tol. Let’s talk small wins, adulting, and that nakakakaba feeling when you see “Missed Call from Unknown Number.” You know the one. It’s like a horror movie waiting to happen.
Heart palpitations? Yep. Cold sweat? Definitely.
But guess what? Today, I’m here to tell you na pwede rin maging source of relief yang mga unknown numbers na yan.
You see that post title? BDO? PAID NA! Insert fireworks and that “Tanging Ina” victory song here.
Now, bago kayo mag-isip na big time spender ako, let me clarify. I’m talking about escaping the clutches of credit card debt. Diba, ang saya mag-swipe, mag-online shopping? Parang libre lahat!
Until… dumating yung statement.
Dun tayo magaling eh, sa “Add to Cart.” Pero sa “Pay Bills?” 🙈
Kaya ayun, I found myself scrolling through posts about collecting agencies. My anxiety was reaching Jollibee queue levels during National Fried Chicken Day.
Pero you know what they say, “Desperate times call for desperate measures.”
Char! Hindi naman sa ganun. More like, “Desperate times call for facing your responsibilities.”
So I did. I told myself, “Self, this ends now. This credit card debt? We’re throwing it a Despedida party!”
Step 1: Confront the Monster Under the Bed (or in my wallet).
I listed down all my credit cards – yung active, yung sleeping, yung feeling artista na biglang nag-disappear. Lahat sila, present!
Step 2: Channel my Inner Negotiator (read: Tinawad ko)
I called the collecting agency. Guys, let me tell you, parang nag-audition ako for a teleserye with all the paawa effect I did.
“Ma’am, good day po. Alam ko po may atraso ako. Gusto ko lang po sana i-settle kaso hirap po talaga sa buhay ngayon. Baka po may discount?”
And guess what? It worked! I was able to negotiate a lower amount!
Step 3: The Sweet Taste of Freedom (and Minimum Payments)
Hindi ko pa kaya bayaran yung lahat in full. Pero at least, I was able to settle my closed BDO account. Priceless!
The Saga Continues: Reviving the Revivable
Now, here’s the plot twist. I have another card, yung “revivable” daw. And get this, nung nagtanong ako if pwede installment, wala daw silang access.
Ano daw?! So, it’s like nasa gitna kami ng dagat tapos inflatable lang yung bangka?
**So there you have it, my small win story. **
It’s not always about grand gestures. Sometimes, it’s about facing your financial responsibilities one step at a time.
Lessons Learned (Kasi Dapat May Moral of the Story):
- **Don’t be afraid to negotiate. ** The worst they can say is no.
- Small progress is still progress. Celebrate every milestone, even the minimum payments.
- Adulting is tough, but we got this! Let’s support each other in this journey.
And remember, if I can do it, so can you! Fighting! 💪
P.S. To the collecting agency handling my other card, usap tayo please? Baka naman pwede mag-installment? 🙏
